Our Piece
Established in 1979 on Sydney's Newport Beach, Lucky & Pep's quickly became a social hub for the local community, a cosy and inviting environment where families and friends gathered for a pizza and a chat.
In 1985, when Italian brothers Andrew and Angelo Auricchio acquired the business, the restaurant was brought up to a new level, now offering traditional homemade pasta and meat dishes in addition to the already popular pizzas. The brothers, passionate about food, prepared each meal with the utmost care.
When the Baluch family purchased the pizzeria in 2000, Angelo stayed back to show all the ropes to Chef Will, personally teaching him all the recipes collected throughout these years. From the attention to detail in preparing the veal, to the tips and secrets when cooking the homemade gnocchi, that same passion has been kept close to the heart at Lucky & Pep's.
With the ever increasing popularity and booked out nights, the Baluch siblings, Will, Jasmin and Junior, moved to bigger premises at the Newport hub. The new restaurant was opened in June 2005, bringing a large outdoor seating area as well as an expanded kitchen.
